about

This track coalesced from some jazz chords that I was experimenting with.

The Lyrics are a tribute to a couple of individuals that I have deep respect of in the promotion of freedom and liberty. I'll leave it to the listener to try and figure out who they are. Their names are embedded in the lyrics in a subtle fashion, with reference to two of the projects that they are involved in promoting.

Candles in the Dark

Copyright 9/2/2017 Robert Lindsay Nathan, Jr.

It’s true, I’ve been bent some,
Off the track of convention.
I think it’s safe to say
Off that path, yes, I’ve strayed.
That which mentors had marked
From ancient lies that they’d saved
Hiding candles
In the dark

From a burr and a wick
And a garden of lark
In a rose standing stark
A flame did egnyte
And a candle did burn
From the wick that’s within
Lighting candles
In the dark

Until two and then three
Burst toward infinity
Now what all the kings dread;
Superstition is dead.

Like when stories told between the lines
Were the truth that all could see
Now candles in the dark
Enlighten slaves with anarchy.

Now what all the kings dread;
Superstition is dead.
