about

Yes, this was actually inspired in part by a Guy Clark video. I'll not reveal here who I though I saw in that video. You good folks can drill down into YouTube and try to figure it out for yourself.

Have fun.

lyrics

A Glimpse of You
Copyright 10/25/2019 Robert Lindsay Nathan

I could have sworn I caught a glimpse of you
On a Guy Clark video.
It was “that old time feeling” song he sang
An ambush from long ago

You were chatting it up with some other guy
But it could have been Townes or the tear in my eye.
My vision gets fooled when I’m singing the blues
Making it up on the fly.

That old time feeling keeps sneaking around
Sometimes with it’s friend named Cry.
That old time feeling keeps sneaking around
And it will….till the day I die.

I could have sworn I caught a glimpse of you
On a Guy Clark video.
I was singin’ in a bar, strummin’ guitar
As my heart bled out on the floor

I was playing my gut in more ways than one
Stuff never heard on radio.
It’s when I swore I caught a glimpse of you
On a Guy Clark video.

That old time feeling keeps sneaking around
Sometimes with it’s friend named Cry.
Our old time feeling keeps sneaking around
And it will….till the day I die.

I could have sworn I caught a glimpse of you
On a Guy Clark video.
I was singin’ in a bar, folks were feeding my jar
Was it you that walked through the door?

The spark of legacy lost with little thought
It always comes to mind.
Like when I swore I caught a glimpse of you
On a Guy Clark video.

That old time feeling keeps sneaking around
Sometimes with it’s friend named Cry.
Our old time feeling keeps sneaking around
And it will….till the day I die.

Playing Guy Clark songs all night long.
When you’re playing great covers
What could go wrong?
When you’re under the covers, just sing along.

Outro:

Playing Guy Clark songs all night long.
When you’re under the covers, just sing along.
Our old time feeling keeps sneaking around
And it will….till the day I die.
